Hi there, I’m Olivia
I am a project manager, a parent, and an expat living in London, United Kingdom.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary contract gradually evolved into a new chapter of life abroad.
Beginnings
Moving to United Kingdom wasn’t in the long-term plan. Like many expat moves, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far bigger.
The initial months were challenging — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks felt more tangled than they needed to be.
The Adjustment Period
Culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But gradually, routines formed. We found places that worked for us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt stable.
Why I Built BeyondBorders Family
Most information online was either corporate-level relocation advice or surface-level tourism material. What was missing was an honest, day-to-day family perspective.
This site exists to close that gap — practical guidance based on real life in United Kingdom.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site IS:
- Practical know-how gained from living in United Kingdom
- Centered on family life and everyday realities
- Updated only when something truly changes
This site ISN'T:
- Not a tourism-authority resource
- Not a sponsored review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our stay in United Kingdom goes on, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains helpful, I’ll continue documenting what we find.
If you have questions about family life in London or anywhere in United Kingdom, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Cheers,
Olivia
